How To Care For Your Tires
Tires are like a great pair of shoes you wear day-after-day, they start out looking and feeling great, but once they lose their freshness they slip and slide everywhere.
Check your tread the depth of the tread on your tire requires a minimum 1.5mm. Most tires will have an indicator in the tread pattern of some kind to signal when they are getting down; a small joint between the patterns of the tire is the most popular. If your tires don't have these indicators just place a match head into the groove of the tread. If you can still see the head, you are diving on unsafe tires and will need to get them changed. Getting new tires is expensive, but there are a few things you can do to make them last longer.
Tire Inflation: In the glove box, under the bonnet or adheared to the inside of the drivers door there is usually found a tire placard that you can use to check the pressurs in your tires. The placard will also give you other important tire information such as the correct size, speed rating and load capacity of the tires that should be fitted to your car.
Under inflation can: Cause excessive deforming in the tire, building up internal heating and causing fast and abnormal wear. Create additional rolling resistance which will have a negative impact on your vehicle's fuel efficiency. Under inflation will cause increase fuel usage, tire wear, and among other things will make your vehicle more diffult to handle.
Pump them up: It is recommend that you visualy scan your tires evey time you approach your vehicle. It is best to check them when they are cold, due to the fact that the air in a warm tire expands and will give you an incorrect reading. But don't put too much air in!
Over inflation of tires can: Reduce the ability of the tire to absorb road shocks, resulting in a much harsher ride. Excessive wear of the centre of the tire will be apparent.
Wheel balance: A wheel balance equally distributes the burden to each wheel. Balanced wheels make for a better and more comfortable ride. Experts recommend getting your tires balanced every 5 to 10000km's, this usually falls around the time you need to service the engine. You should also get your wheels balanced when you get new tires, your tires show uneven wears, or your steering wheel vibrates while you're driving.
Wheel alignment: A wheel alignment puts your wheels back on an even track with one another. You may a two or four wheels aligned, depending what kind of car you drive. Experts seem to recommend getting a wheel alignment every 15,000km's, but you might likewise get it done whenever you detect your car is getting harder to steer, or is pulling to one side of the road.
Properly inflated, balanced and aligned tires will last longer and save you money each time you fill up your tank. With less drag on the road your fuel economy will increase and you will have a more pleasurable driving experience.

Wetsuit for diving in south africa?
I'm heading to south africa in october and cant decide whether I should take my full semi dry system (5mm long suit + 5mm shortie + hood and gloves) or just to save on weight and only take the long suit. Planning to dive to 30mtr max - but there are going to be night dives. Any ideas? I'm tempted to leave the shortie at home...
I would take the shortie as well. 30m at night (even in south africa) is gonna get pretty cold. You don't wanna have to end the dive early cos ure too cold!
