Last year I went to the big island and it was awesome it costed 1800 for two tickets and 7 days in a condo. I looked at Maui but the cheapest was like 2300. Where would be a good place for someone to go that is not looking to spend a ton on tickets and a room. I want to go some where with beautiful beaches nice weather and fun activities for young adults. Snorkeling, kayaking, scuba diving, fishing etc.
Based on the activities that you list, I would suggest that Kauai or Maui would be your best choice. As for costs, I assume you're traveling from the west coast because that would be a killer price traveling from the east coast. Anyway, I think you will find that overall prices will be higher this year versus last year simply because fuel costs have gone up...I'm sure you've noticed. So, to be honest, $2300 for air and condo for 7-days sounds very reasonable. However, what you could do is look to book everything separately, rather than as a package and see what you can find. For a condo, try www.redweek.com, they handle timeshare rentals and can often have some really good deals. As for air, if you're in one of the cities they fly in and out of, try Hawaiian Airlines...they offer some pretty good prices. And, of course, if you haven't tried them, try looking for a package deal from them, as well. Good luck.
