Women hate feeling and looking old. It's a plain fact. Cosmetic companies have locked onto this truth and the growth of the facial cream market only continues to grow day by day. There is another area of the body that most women despise when it comes to showing age. Unlike the face, this part of the body requires drastic action to reverse the signs of aging, but unfortunately, not many people are offering help. I am of course referring to the upper arms and they're not pretty when they start getting saggy. Use these three exercises in the comfort of your home to get rid of bat wings which might be slowly creeping up your arms. If you don't have a set of light dumbbells, simply substituting them with full, square (to make them easier to hold), water bottles is adequate. 1. Tricep Extension This is a simple exercise that directly targets the problem area. Think of men flexing. Now snap back into reality. The bulging muscle on the top of the arm is the bicep, while the tricep is the muscle at the bottom of the arm, ie. where all the saggy arm fat starts to appear. Put one hand on a surface that's about waist level. Bend forward about 90 degrees and holding a dumbbell in the other hand, slowly extend the other hand behind you. Hold the dumbbell there for one second, then slowly lower your arm down. Repeat this 10-12 times. Try not to move the rest of your body or "fling" your arm up if you can't lift it anymore. 2. Dumbbell Extension This exercise will not directly help you to get rid of bat wings, but focusing on the tricep area and bicep area in different exercises will lead to a leaner more toned arm. This means no bat wings and hardly any pudgy upper arm fat at all! In an upright stance (standing or sitting), lift the weight up until it's parallel to the floor. The bicep muscles are stronger than the triceps, which means you should focus on fast repetitions and working out for a time limit. Basically, lift the dumbbells at a fast rhythm until you can feel a burning sensation in your arm. The "no pain, no gain" approach has never been more true than for this exercise and the longer you can sustain the exercise, the stronger your biceps become and the leaner you can make your arms. 3. Dumbbell Bench Press Whoa hold on. Isn't bench pressing only for men? Definitely not. Men mainly do it to build up their pectoral (chest) muscles, but plenty of women have discovered that bench pressing has helped them not only get rid of bat wings, it's also helped them fill up their arms a little bit and give them some muscular definition. The exercise is simple. Lie down on hard, flat surface and keeping your arms parallel to each other, push the weights up and lower them back down to your chest. You might wish to use weights that are slightly heavier if you find that you this exercise is too easy. You are utilizing both biceps and triceps in this exercise. More muscle equals more strength and resistance so again, go for length of time rather than definitions. Work out to a beat, have a catchy song you like play in the background. These three preliminary exercises are usually all that women need to help them get rid of bat wings, no matter if they're just starting to notice some pudge developing around their arms, or whether their full-blown shopping bags that literally catch the wind when you're waving bye to someone. Banish those bat wings now! I'm not a woman, so I can't fully understand how women feel about saggy upper arms. I'm a little guy and work out to build muscle, so what I do understand however is the self-consciousness, bordering on shame you feel when going out. It must be upsetting, going out on a stifling hot day and forcing yourself to wear something to cover up those embarrassing arms. About the Author I would imagine that women might feel somewhat liberated for the first time in years when they come across something like Go Sleeveless and realize there is hope as they excitedly picture themselves going sleeveless and wearing that old summer spaghetti strap dress that's been hiding in the closet for years. Hundreds of women have already let it help them, let Go Sleeveless banish your bat wings back to the dark ages for you. I am a 15 year old male and i am looking to gain 15-20ish pounds of muscle as i am very light (52kg 5.9") how many of each per day would be best? i can currently max out at about 30 push ups per set. Note: when i flex in certain ways i can see a 6 pack at times but i would like to make it much more vivid along with my arms and shoulders. online calculator says 10% BODY FAT Thanks
10% seems fairly accurate by the way you're describing b/c i'm around 10% as well. Personally, I wouldn't fret too much about your abdominals just yet b/c you're only 15 and still growing. Obtaining a six pack requires a lot of dedication and sacrifice. There's no need to go on a strict diet when you're growing. As far as the # of pushups needed, there is no magical number. You won't see significant results until you hit the free weights hard. You have time though since you're still young.Video About Light Flex Arm
