This summer I'm going to dive for a few weeks on the Great Barrier Reef and I would love to get some great pictures underwater. I have a Nikon D7000. Is there some kind of case brought around to take in water (this may sound totally ridiculous)? If not so, what are some semi-high quality but affordable (under $ 300) underwater cameras? And the three of them cost less than $ 300 on Amazon. Just decide what features you need most: Sony TX5 is waterproof to 10 feet when Panasonic and Olympus TS2 roughly 8010 are waterproof to 33 feet. And Sony TX5 has the lowest resolution of these three. It's just 10.2 megapixels. Panasonic and Olympus have a 14MP resolution, which is a big difference. All cameras are shock, dust, sand and freeze-proof. However, Olympus 8010 is also an indestructible and designed to withstand a weight of 220 pounds. TX5 Sony gives you the opportunity to capture panoramic images with Panorama Sweep function. Your images are automatically stitched together, which gives the view extra-wide landscape. Olympus 8010 has the option of panoramic shot too. It also comes with an integrated approach in the memory of 2GB, which is that most cameras on the market. TS2 Panasonic has a good video recording quality. Despite all these cameras record video in HD format. But TS2 Panasonic seems to be the most expensive one. But if you do not need tough camera water at this time, Sony is launching a new Sony Cyber-shot DSC-TX-10 April 2011. It will have a resolution of 16.2 megapixels impressive.
