No, a song has never done that for me. If I were susceptible, I think Ozzy's lovely ode "Mr. Crowley" probably would have turned me to the dark side the first time I heard it.

I think there is some music out there which is Satanic in a theatrical sense, as in the costumes and the guitars and the lyrics are all a big performance designed to sell records by giving the appearance of being Satanic, but I think anyone who lets music have that much influence over them is a little wobbly already.

You have to ignore the silliness of the video itself, and just listen to the lyrics and to Danzig's beautiful voice. I think he has a great one, and I told someone recently that I imagine a fallen angel would sing like that.

As for "Holy Diver", it makes me want to go play WoW and swing a broadsword. I have always thought that the whole meaning of the song was that he was a good guy, battling evil, and wondering when, if ever, it will be conquered. I guess that would make it an anti-Satan song. As far as the bit about being tired of the whole battle, I think this song is a good companion to that one:

It's about a warrior who is tired, very tired, of fighting. It's quite different in feel, but it's one of my favorite songs, as the lyrics convey how horrible the neverending battle is.
