Good Ways to Find Flight Deals and Cheap Flights to Fiji

When planning a vacation getaway, there are many alluring destinations in the South Pacific that fit the bill of a balmy tropical paradise where people can watch their troubles drift away with the setting sun. One of the best of these island playgrounds is the nation of Fiji, which lies midway between New Caledonia and Samoa.

Among the most delightful aspects of a holiday in Fiji is that the weather is relatively constant year round. The summer maximum temperature is around 31 degrees C (88 F) while the winter maximum only drops to 29 degrees C (84 F). This permits the holiday traveller to go whenever it is convenient for them, and not just when the weather is good-- as is the case with some other destinations. While rain can be expected in any season, April, May, June, and October are the driest months. Because of its amenable climate, peak travel season in Fiji depends more on the wishes of tourists than upon any local factors. For example, Fiji is a very popular Christmastime destination for the winter-weary inhabitants of Europe and North America.

Down under, the seasons are naturally reversed, so that the peak times for southern hemisphere travellers don't crowd out those vacationers from the north. Fiji is well-served with cheap flights from all of the major Anzac gateways. Fly with ease direct from Brisbane, Melbourne or Sydney in all seasons, or divide the trip into two shorter halves with a hop on over to Auckland before jetting north to Fiji.

On account of its status as a destination of choice for tourists, there are countless Fiji vacation package deals to choose from. Fiji is much more than the usual sandy beaches and leaning palm trees. It is important to decide what to do in Fiji before one gets there, or else the guest is likely to be overwhelmed with the symphony of experiences available.

If scuba diving is on the agenda, Fiji offers some of the best soft coral reefs in the world. There are also many opportunities for wreck or cave diving. The warm ocean temperatures mean that there is never a bad time to dive (or surf) in Fiji. Onshore, there are an astonishing number of experiences to choose from. Popular cultural attractions include tours of ancient temples and cannibal museums. Somewhat unexpectedly on a tropical island, Fiji is also home to amazing white water kayaking experiences. Its 332 separate islands offer myriad opportunities for lazy cruises, beach picnics, and sport fishing. Fiji has also become an extremely popular and romantic place to stage an unforgettable wedding or vow renewal ceremony.

In short, Fiji is a fantastic way to get away from it all. With its wonderful year round climate and welcoming people, the question isn't really about when to vacation in Fiji but what the best way is to get there. For the casual vacationer, local travel agents offer the advantage of customized service and, often, personal experience from their own familiarization trips to Fiji. They can suggest a comprehensive package based on the individual's specifications regarding price, duration and desired activities.

For the seasoned traveller who is more used to getting about on their own, any of the online travel sites offer excellent guidance on flights and lodging. The ability to compare rates often leads to greater savings. In either case, however, careful advance planning allows one to let those worries all drop upon arrival in Fiji. Because of its popularity, there are many flights to Fiji in all seasons. Whether online or through a travel agent, shop around for the best flight deals and don't forget to pack your camera.

Going to Cozumel, should I pre-purchase trip to Tulum and Snorkeling or wait till I get there?

Are these good deals or can I do better once I'm there.
Tulum and Xel-ha All Inclusive $128.00 per person, includes guided tour of Tulum plus all-inclusive package at Xel-ha, which includes entrance to the park, use of snorkel equipment, and food and drink while in the park.

Scuba Du snorkel trips go to three of Cozumel's favorite reefs: Columbia Shallows, Palancar, and world-famous Chankanaab. $28.00 per person

Wait until you get there! I know that our resort had folks there to help us book different tours and they were cheaper that the online information that we found. Also...weather may be a factor. When you book online you may button-hole yourself into a day of snorkeling or looking at a ruin in a terrible storm!!!

I would not waste my time with Tulum. Spend all day at Xel-Ha (Garden of Eden in my book). Chizten-Itza (sp) is a LONG trip in a bus (if you like to do that on your vacation....

Xcaret park has ruins, recreations of burial grounds, horse shows, dance shows, an amazing evening show that brings Mexican culture, dance, costumes, music...very entertaining. The park is part zoo, underground snorkeling, Sea Trek (you descend to the bottom of the sea with a helmet providing your oxygen and see the fish, coral etc.) It is worth your time and money! http://www.xcaret.com

If you have to pick between Xcaret and Xel-Ha...pick Xel-Ha as it is not as commercial and VERY beautiful!

http://www.xel-ha.com

You can take a ferry from Playa del Carmen to Cozumel for around $12 and find a snorkel tour near the pier...it is fabulous...beautiful snorkeling...

Hope this is helpful!
